the table was not in use it was hung against the wall. Oaten bread was eaten. This bread was made from water and oaten meal and then baked on a griddle. Very little meal was eaten. Meat was eaten at Christmas and at Easter. People used to kill their own cattle. Fish were eaten. Wooden mugs were used before cups.
