- (continued from previous page)the table was not in use it was hung against the wall. Oaten bread was eaten. This bread was made from water and oaten meal and then baked on a griddle. Very little meal was eaten. Meat was eaten at Christmas and at Easter. People used to kill their own cattle. Fish were eaten. Wooden mugs were used before cups.
- Shops were not common in olden times. The people used to go to the nearest town for their goods. Buying and selling carried on after Mass. This is still practiced. The things(continues on next page)
