Mr Fay of Bolandstown, Delvin owns a great number of fields. One of these fields is known as "The Brick Field" because there was a brick yard in it in olden times, and people used to make bricks there.
Another field is called the "Night Field" because there was a shed in it in which the people used to mind sheep and lambs at night.

In Michael Heffernan's field there is a hill called "Fossa Hill " .

There is a great rock in a field owned by Mr Merlehan, Martinstown, Delvin called the "Giant's Rock". A seat is carved in the rock, and it is said that a giant used to sit in it long ago.
There is also a very large rock on the estate of Mrs Fetherstonhaugh called the "Piper's Rock" so called, because pipers used to sit there and play.
There is a bush on the farm of Hugh Macken, Johnstown, Delvin called the "Hangman's Bush" as three men were hanged there a long time ago.
