  1. About two miles from my house a poor woman was living alone. One day a creature supposed to be a 'fairy' called on the poor woman and asked her for the loan of an oven. The woman refused the request. The fairy remarked - "that the woman would yet be sorry" - and the fairy disappeared.
    Next morning when this poor woman went out she found her two cows and her horse dead in the field.
