  1. About eighty years ago people named Gibson's of Granebeg Raharney used to churn each morning to have fresh butter for their breakfast.
    Their servants would be churning for hours and still nothing would come on the churn only froth.
    They told Connor Sheridan. He told them that some of their neighbours were taking it through the power of the devil. He also told them to get up early on the following morning and take the chains and coulter out of the plough and put them round the churn and the coulter in the fire and whoever was taking the butter would be burning as much as the coulter and would come to the door looking for something but not to make them an answer.
    When morning came they got up early and did as they were told.
