about twenty years (ago) and it is not known whether anyone else saw the strange horse since.
My father told me a story about a hare. There was a man named Jack Treadon living about a quarter of a mile from Rathconrath. He happened to be ill and one day my father went to see him. He was just better at this time. The two of them were sitting at the fire chatting when suddenly a hare jumped in to the kitchen across the half-door and sat down on the middle of the floor as if she had every right to be there. Daddy noticed something queer about the hare. He said she had human eyes. The man told her to go out and she did so. The man died three or four hours after and there was no sign of him when Daddy went to see him at all.
