- Local CuresA man by {of Paddy of} the name of Paddy Kearney cured sprained ankles with the root of a yellow flower that grows at the side of the river. He used to cut it up and then boil it. This was put on a clean cloth and tied on the ankle. After a few days this would get very hard. It was then left on until it fell off. Mrs. Keane Ballymahon cures burns with ointment she makes out of a dripping and other stuff. Colds were cured by eating garlic.Told by the people of the district
