Nearly every night he used go off to the bar and stay there drinking till eleven or twelve o clock at night. Some nights he used never return home and he'd leave the poor children there by themselves and the neighbours wondered how they were saved from being burned in the fire or hurt. One night the man went off to the bar as usual and he kept on drinking till ten o'clock. At ten he thought there was something telling him that there was something wrong at home.
