- About twenty years ago, the time that Joe Kilduf lived in Darroge. He had a cow from which he could not get any milk. A black hare used to suck the cow when she would get the cow lying down. He told a priest his story and the priest told him to set two black dogs after the black hare. Every Sunday they went after the hare but did not succeed in catching her. One Sunday they got the two black dogs but the hare got into an old wall, one of the dogs taking a mouthful of hair out of her back. The men went up to the place where she went in. They looked into the wall and saw an old woman there who had a spinning wheel and she was bleeding. She was the hare.
