Ar an leathanach seo

  1. I live in the townland of Kilmacannon which is in the Parish of Clonguish and in the barony of Longford. In it are ten families and a population of about forty-two.
The family name most is Beirne.
Most of the houses are thatched and the rest are tiled. This townland got its name from a family called Cannons who lived there at one time.
There are four people over seventy living there but they know no Irish. There names are Mrs Beirne, Miss Cannon, Mr Mc Goldrick.
There were more houses in olden times here, there being two in ruins. Many people went to America and elsewhere during the famine years. This district is not mentioned in song or saying as far as the inhahitants can ascertain.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
