  1. I live in a townland called Ballagh in the parish of Clonguish and in the barony of Longford. There are fifteen families in this townland. The approximate number of people is fifty-eight.
    There are four slated houses and six thatched and the rest tiled.
    There are four people over seventy years namely - Pat Mc Garry, Miss Mc Garry, Mrs Latimer and Mrs Johnston.
    They do not know Irish but can tell stories in English about long ago.
    Most of the houses long ago were round and built of mud-wall and roofed with wattles and clay.
    Ballagh got its name from a road because the townland stretches across the railway bridge, and goes up a bit into the townland of Carrickmoira. It is
