Spearmint is used for a Collic.
Dandelion is good for Kidney and liver trouble to slice it very fine and boil it. Ivy leaves boiled with sugar and liquorice are good for a cold.
Elm bark chopped up and boiled makes an excellent poultice.
"Slaunus" is good for all sores and wounds. This, pounded finely and boiled in unsalted butter, makes an excellent ointment. Camomile Flowers are very good for burns and sprains when chopped up very fine and mixed with lard and boiled well.
In the well of St Patrick in Cornakelly there is a cure for Paralysis. First the people wash the spot where the sore is in the water and hang a piece of a rag on the big bush beside the well and while the rag is rotting the pains are going.
