In Baltinglass Ive attended Mass
And in Rathvilly and Annamoe
On each sabbath day I have heard them play
With attentive ear I have heard each note
Their voices sweet, mild and discreet
In our "Holy Temple in Killamoat." - Poets were not numerous in this district in olden times. There was a man by the name of Mr Foley from the townland of Mullins who used to make songs about dances and such like things which occured in the neighbourhood. He composed the following song.
I
You jolly sons of Erins Isle
Attention pay to me
Ill sing to you a verse or two
About a jolly spree.
It was held against the old man's will
Perhaps you heard before
It was in the house of old Mick Dunne
He lived in Rashenmore.
