    Wishing Days
My informant didn't know exactly what they were but had an idea that they occurred some fifty days after Easter. Neither did he know their number. In the past there were tasks which would not in any circumstances be performed during the wishing days e.g. "to regulate animals."

    Borrowing days.
The first three days in April are called Borrowing Days from the belief that they were borrowed for the "old cow." The old story of March borrowing them to kill the cow is not now remembered locally;in fact nothing is known of the relation between the "old cow" and the "borrowing." Old people will say, however, that it is "natural" for the first three days of April to be dry and ? with severe east wind.
