The wheel is in perfect condition except that there is a spoke broken in one of the wheels. There is another old spinning wheel in Thomas Farrelly's Enagh Virginia. It is not used now but as late as thirty years ago Bridget Farrelly used to spin woollen yarn for the neighbours.
Children's stockings and men's socks are knitted in nearly all homes.
White satin is worn by brides. Black ties by men and black clothes by women at funerals of relatives.
