    bread in the oven. I never heard of the bread baked in a bacus or in a bastable.
    They baked all the oatmeal in front of the fire against a support. I do know know what this support was called. If visitors came to the house unexpectedly the first thing the housekeeper did was make pancakes for them, because they would not take long to bake.
