  1. The only ancient stone monument in this parish is to be seen at the grounds of the parochial house. Killenkere where it was placed by Reverend Joseph Meehan P.P. in 1926, it was in an old fort in Carriga about a quarter of a mile North West from Killenkere chapel, it is about four feet high and has a cross at the top covered with a cap cut out of stone, the marks are believed to be Oghan signs.
    There is a mass rock in the land owned by Mr. Patrick Mc Cabe Corralinure about a quarter of amile South of Killinkere chapel, and there is a collection of remarkable stones in a field owned by Mr. Eugene Brady Carrickgorman. In Gallon graveyard there are three ancient stones over graves, there are no stone mounds to the memory of
