   Her words, they were true and prevailing,
   She complained of a merciless throng.

   Of Hatred, malignance and spleen,
   Since that reprobate, vile Reformation.
   Degraded the Shamrock so green.

   My ill-fated Country I mourn,
   I feel for her wrongs and her woes,
   With wrath I unceasantly bourne,
   When I view the triumph of her foes,
