It being in the month of October

    (continued from previous page)
That he brought, from his namesake in town
In Killarney, she is always the leader
And in the burragh of Kildare she gains ground
She is noted, for ploughing and harrowing
For carting, she is able no doubt
And for Padriell, we will saddle this racer
To preach the land league all round.

Through glen flesh, we next then drove after
We were numb, both in arms, and toes
For the wind held, precisely northwards
And the paps in each border were froze.
At bareys we delayed, for a quarter
To nourish, our horses, with oats
The kettle was ready, in the corner
If it only got an order to blow.

When we came again to Kilgarvan
We refreshed, our spirits once more
When OShea, with his neighbor Jim Palmer
They stood at the bar, for a toast
Through Artilly, we drove then like racers
    And instantly, gained the bross-roads
Which filled all the hearts of spectators
The speed, of the Bay Mare for home.
