- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)from an hour to two in winter to make it. It is worked up and down by hand. When the butter is made it comes to the top and that is how people know when the butter is made. It is all gathered in one lump and washed several times to take out the butter milk. In winter when the cream is very cold the people put hot water into the churn to make the butter quickly. Butter is made twice a week in summer and once in winter. There is a wooden plate used in the washing of the butter.
