Folklore
The great Irish famine occurred in the years 46 and 47 caused by the blight that destroyed the potato crop in in the summer of 46.
The people were dependent on the potato crop for their, food and when they failed they had scarcely anything else to support them. So great was the want of food that in some parts of Ireland people had to eat grass, everything such as cattle, sheep and poultry were killed and eaten.(continues on next page)- Collector
