  1. Fairy forts are dens and places where fairies have dwelt long ago.
    Long years ago Ireland was surrounded by wild beasts of prey whom the people feared.
    The Tuata De Dananns were in Ireland then and after a while their leader Manannan Mac Lir made fairies of them and put them to dwell in lonely places. These are the fairies which people saw.
