    is known as the Kilkenny Road, because the capital of the county, is situated on it.
    Up to the famine time these roads were in a very bad condition. They were repaired during the period of the "Public Works".
    There was a regular mass-pat connecting Ballymack with Newtown chapel long ago. The roads are in good repair at present.
