  1. We keep cows, sheep, pigs, horses and an ass. These are some of the names we call the animals. We call the cows, the Kerry, the Small red and the Long Horns. We call the horses Charley and Fanny, and we call the ass Runkeon. We call the house where the pigs are the bochán and where the cows are the cow house and where the horses are the horse stable. When we are calling the cows we say Prig and the pigs Furish and the sheep Chove and we call the horse and ass by their own name. In winter we put straw under the animals for bedding, and throw mud in the channel. In Summer we cut long grass in the bog called ranach and put it under them. The names of the tyings are the side-lang the crom-naok and the haulter. When we are driving the cows we say haugh and the pigs Muk. When we are hunting the hens we say Cearc and when we are calling them we say Tuck-Tuck and when we are calling the geese we say beada-beada and when we are hunting them we say Gé. When we are calling the ducks we say Wheat-Wheat.
