Once upon a time a man, his wife, and daughter lived together.

Once upon a time a man, his wife, and daughter lived together. One day a crowd of men came cutting turf for them. The woman and her daughter made two cakes for the men's tea. They put a white cloth over the cakes. When the men came for tea in the evening, the woman went to get the cakes, but there were no cakes. They went to make some more cakes. Then they saw the two cakes, and somebody began to laugh but they could see no-body.
When the old people heard what had happened they said it must be the fairies playing tricks.
