  1. In olden time people were much healthier than now and this is chiefly due to the food they consumed. They seldom ate bread and their principal food was potatoes. When they did eat bread it was always home made.
    They grew their own wheat and oats. They also made bread out of potatoes which is known as fadge. Fadge is made like this. The potatoes when boiled and are peeled. Usually potatoes left after dinner were used. About twelve potatoes are usually used for making twelve slices.
