  1. On the left bank of the RIver Finn, about 300 yds from the bridge, is the site of an old castle.
    No trace of the ruins remains. But nine steps of a stair which led from the castle over the embankment are still very plainly visible.

    This was an O'Donnell castle. It was there about the year 1652. Mansfield, the landlord who got the estate round Killygordon built a mansion in 1652.
    He is said to have eloped with one of the O'Donnell ladies.
    The house built by the Mansfields is still occupied.
