  2. About the year 1900 a slate quarry opened by Holmes Brothers in the town-land of Glentown and from the townland it got the name The Glentown Slate Quarry. It was opened for some time but was compelled to close after seventeen years because of the working of them entailed great loss of money.
    There was no machinery in it first. The blocks of slates were
