- (continued from previous page)the kiln is large.It takes the limestone a week to burn. When the limestone are burned they are sold.
- About the year 1900 a slate quarry opened by Holmes Brothers in the town-land of Glentown and from the townland it got the name The Glentown Slate Quarry. It was opened for some time but was compelled to close after seventeen years because of the working of them entailed great loss of money.
