  1. It was an old custom when the marriage party would be passing a cross-roads near their home their neighbours would light bon-fires.
    It was a custom when the marriage party would be returning home from the church after the marriage they would be on horse-back and would be racing one another.
    It was a custom that the bride would not go to mass the first Sunday after her marriage and on the second Sunday she would invite an uneven number of female friends to go to mass with her.
    It was a custom also that the bride should not go home to her mother's home for a month after her marriage.
    It is said that if a black cat rubbed against the bride on her wedding day she would have luck.
