    Out upon the roadside poor Birmingham was sent.
    Because with all his striving he could not pay the rent
    To keep up Lord Dunsandle in horses dogs and win[e].
    Who comes and takes the holding but foolish Murty Hynes
    II
    When the Noble Land League heard of this disgrace
    They sent a man to Murty to reason out the case
    I own my crime says Murty but I'll wash out the stain.
    I'll keep the farm no longer
    I'll give it up again
    III
    Then Murty wrote a letter and he sent it to the League
    Saying for the cause of Ireland I never will reneige
    And never more I promise
    While the heavens above me shines
    Would I for land go grabbing says honest Murty Hynes.

    They gathered in a crowd
