  1. The landlord of this locality died some years ago. He name was Lord Clonbrock. This is how he got Clonbrock.
    There lived in Clonbrock a Catholic family by the name of O Kelly. When the Cromwellians came they were evicted and a family by the name of Dillon were given it, because they were Protestants. When Mrs Kelly was leaving Clonbrock she knelt down and cursed it. She said she hoped she would see the day that there would not be a heir in the place. This came to pass.
