    In olden days when Seamus reigned
    And plenty crowned the land
    A spirit was seen in Killeens church
    'Twas called the Long Black Hand

    (II)
    No traveller ever passed that way
    From setting sun till dawn
    But was by this malicious elf
    Half murdered on the bawn

    (III)
    The church where in she lay was built
    By Colman son of Duach
    Twas three long miles from old Tyrone
    And two short miles from Clough

    (IV)
    Now Clough belonged to Andrew Lynch
    A man of large estate
    But yet he felt dissatisfied
    This church being near his sate
