  1. The Landlord
Sir Henry Burke of Marble Hill was the local landlord and the last.
The family had been settled in the district for a few hundred years.
They were looked upon as very good landlords as they were very good Catholics and always helped their priests and their church. They always helped the poor by giving clothing. They gave them presents of clothing at Christmas and once in a while they used to visit the schools in the parish and used to bring gifts to the children.
There was only one eviction that we know of in Sir Henry Burke's time that of a family of the Clerys in Moyglass. They would not have been evicted but they refused to pay their rent.
