    scratching timber. When a spider is seen spining a short cobweb everyone knows that the day will be wet.
    (19) When crows are seen flying around a house it is the sign of rain. Some people say in some districts that it is the sign of a death in a family.
    (20) Soot falling down the chimney is reguarded as a sure sign of of rain and storm.
    (21) When the pig is heard squealing it is a sure sign of high wind. Pigs are the only animals that know when the wind is near.
    (22) The seagulls go out through the country when they know that there is storm at hand.
    (22) When the ducks are heard quacking it is the sign of stormy weather.
    (23) A very bad sign of the weather is when the chimney is puffing and the smoke going through the house.
