    Some pleasure seekers brave and bold
    Some young light-hearted boys
    Into the lake to have a swim
    To cheer their happy joys
    We watched their movements on the deep
    Those fond companions four,
    And they could see the ladies walk
    In Lough Rynn's Wooded Shore.

    A gentle breeze passed through the trees
    It murmured sweet as song
    The band did play a stirring lay
    To cheer the passing throng
    But at length there sank one of the boys
    Sank, Sank to rise no more,
    And the helpless cries near reached the skies
    In Lough Rynn's Wooded Shore.

    A boatman fast came to the shore
    A diver searched the deep
    All lives were sense-less on the spot
    The ladies all did weep
    But at last his lifeless form was found
    Each heart being sad and sore
    And from young and old a sad tear rolled
