the circuits of the trees, but the majority of them say the prayers I have already mentioned. One may do as many Stations as one pleases on St. Bridget's Day, but one visit to the Well, after the last Station, is sufficient for every three Stations done on 1st Feb.
Pilgrims used to attach pieces of cloth to the bush at the well but this custom has died out gradually within the last 15 years.
It is said the pilgrims visited this well since the time of St. Bridget. It is visited now by people in the neighbourhood for a radius of about ten miles.
The position of the Well is given on the Ordnance Survey Map 25'', Sheet No. 25, 11 1/2'' from the left-hand side, and 21'' from the bottom.
St Bridget's Cross, made of rushes, is made in many houses on the 31st Jan and hung in the houses for the year. It is also often put in outoffices where cattle are kept. Locally it is called the Brídeog.
