    She said to me the other day she could not understand
    Why she should work for me all day on other people's land,
    Some of whom have crossed the main to earn a foreign bread
    When going left their curse on me and prayed I might be dead.

    ''Some mother died in Sligo in the lunatics' sad home
    By being evicted from their place I shamefully do own.
    And for that same conscience gets no rest by night or day.
    I might as well live down in hell as struggling in this way.''

    '' But what about my comrades here, McGurdy and Tramp Davis;
    If you hunt on, pray hunt us all, and send us to the Hell's blazes.
    You know it really is too bad, as you may plainly see
    To make one grabber pay for all, and let the others free.''

    Up speaks the gallant captain saying ''that's not the way with me
    I'll take you in rotation and let no grabber free.
    And if you live a year or two you'll see all things made right
    I'll never let a grabber free while my name it is moonlight.''
