    Strongarm.
    He was looked upon as a good landlord. The English came over and took some land from him about two hundred years ago. They divided some of the lands among themselves. The rest of the land was divided among the members of the family on marriage.
    The river Greece runs through his demesne. St. Patrick's Well is in one of his fields.

  2. Tithes were collected in the district of Castlemitchell in former times. They were collected by James Duffy and John Kelly. They collected in kind. The people resented the collection and there was fighting.
