- Pat Key used to thatch houses in this district. He thatched with hazel rods and oaten straw. The hazel rods were pared at each end. When he had the straw on he put the wattles through it to keep it tight.Mary Wright,

- Baskets are made of scollops and sally rods. A round ring is made with a hazel stick and then there are five scollops put across the ring. The sally rods are twisted in between them.Mrs. Ellen Connor (84 years)
