  1. Some time before the Light House on the Calf Rock was knocked, say about sixty years ago, it was a man from Biolarsch had the contract of making the reliefs and landing provision and letters etc. This day they were going making a relief on the rock – Tade Yannel (that was the name of the man who had the contract) and a crew of five and two light-keepers who were going on. There was another man on the crew also but the boat was off Oileán Beag when he came outside. They went back to the landing on the Rock and they were trying to come near to land the light-keepers. It wasn’t very rough, but in the “draw” the stern of the boat caught somehow on the slip and she capsized over on them. Every man in the boat was drowned – light-keepers and crew.
    About an hour before this boat that was lost went west, the people here in the island saw another boat
