- There is a Fort in Mr. Glynn's field in Dromineen. In this Fort there is a little white thorn bush and under this bush there is a pot of gold hidden. Mr. Glynn went to dig it some years ago. As he was digging the first sod a weasel appeared on every bramble of the little bush and started to spit at him. As he started to dig the second sod, he was hit by a bramble which blinded on of his eyes. He could never plough the field in which the fort is as the horses always took fright and people are still afraid to interfere with it. So the pot of gold still remains hidden under the little white thorn bush.Nancy O'Connell, aged 12 years.
