The swallow is a small black and white bird with a forked tail. In October the swallow goes away to foreign countries and comes back in the Spring. She builds her nest in barns and stables in the Summer. It is unlucky to kill a swallow or rob her nest. Old people say that if the swallow flies high in the sky the weather will be fine and if she flies low the weather will be wet.
