  1. An old woman dreamt that there was gold hidden in a certain part of an old house in Doon right opposite Hayes' Forge. There is no trace of the house now. She told the owner of the field, Mr Richard, what she had dreamt and described to him exactly where the gold was as it had been shown to her in the dream. To come at the spot he had to knock down most of the house and a fine big old ruin it was. He had 3 or 4 men working on the job and this day when they were getting very near the corner where the gold lay under an 'edger', as Larry
