    listened patiently. At last one man said that he heard the old people tell of a very strong man who could easily carry an anvil by the thinnest point around the forge. Tadhg heard all this and never boasted of his strength till another said that he would bet anything they liked that Tadhg would not even the anvil by the thinnest point. The bet was made and Tadhg immediately took the anvil and carried it a distance of fifty yards and back again.
