  2. In Cloomahara there is a hill at the bottom of which Mass was said in Penal Times. It is the highest Hill in that townland. While the priests said Mass a few men went up to its summit and watched for the English soldiers. When they saw them coming they showed the priest a red handkerchief and in this way he was saved.
