- About sixty years ago there was a big rock on the 'trap-road'. Scabs grew on this rock, like the scabs on a wall, but instead of being white they were brown. Dye was made from these scabs. The people scraped them off the rock. Then they boiled them and strained the water. They threw away the scabs and they steeped the cloth the cloth they wanted to dye, in the juice. When the cloth was dyed it was the colour of a new penny.-
