- There is a holy pllace call the Keive situated about a mile from our home. People were forbidden to cut rods or timber in this place. There was one daring man who ventured to cut hazel-rods in it. From these rods he made a pair of creels with which he drew his turf. The night he had his turf stack finished he left his two creels beside it. To his great surprise in the morning when he went out, his stack of turf was burned into a heap of ashes and the two creels were still quite safe.
