“One cold winter night we were all sitting around a bright turf fire.”
One cold winter night we were all sitting around a bright turf fire. My grand-father sat in the corner nearest the fire and stared into the heart of the blaze.
My brother asked him to tell us an old fairy tale. He consented and after clearing his throat leant over on his stick and started.
"Well" said he, long ago there lived a man and his wife in a little cottage on the verge of a large forest. They had not much wealth so the man went to the wood every morning to fell trees. He carried his large broad axe on his shoulder and in a cloth he(continues on next page)- Collector
