    One cold winter night we were all sitting around a bright turf fire.

    One cold winter night we were all sitting around a bright turf fire. My grand-father sat in the corner nearest the fire and stared into the heart of the blaze.
    My brother asked him to tell us an old fairy tale. He consented and after clearing his throat leant over on his stick and started.
