    he ordered them to make haste and let him in. When he approached before the king he asked for a spade. The king said if he wanted to get digging done he let the servants do it but the tramp said no one but himself would know what to do it. The king let him have his way. He got the frog, put it in his pocket and went in. Then he asked for a pot and some water. Then he went into a room by himself and boiled the frog. When the broth was ready he put some in a cup and threw the rest of the stuff away. Then he went into the room where the princess lay and getting a spoon he put a taste of the broth on her lips and the moment he did she stirred her lips. He gave her another drop and she stirred herself and when he gave her the third drop she jumped up and rubbed her eyes and said "Where am I". Her father who was outside rushed in and nearly went wild with joy. "Now" said the tramp "I claim my reward. He asked the Princess would she marry him and she said yes. Then the king too consented and not only gave her weight in gold but as much more
